You should be able to export the FLA in a supported format like .mov or .avi. I have tried this and the result is a black screen- no movie. It's possible that the entire folder including the .xml and .fla always has to accompany the slideshow, just like when you upload it to a website. Let me know if you have better luck with it than me.
